The Label

"Art is in the eye of the beholder" believes Michelle Charak, the designer who developed a love of art and jewelry at an unusually early age. As she grew up playing in her grandparent's fine & antique jewelry store on Chicago's prestigious Oak Street, she was captivated and inspired by the intricate, delicacy of early 20th century craftsmanship.

With no formal design or jewelry training, and no prejudices or preconceptions, Michelle began experimenting with hand sewing and found that she had the ability to create versatile and expertly crafted works of wearable art. She has an acute, unconventional sense of beauty, combining old world elements with modern, natural design. This, along with her intuitive understanding of the roles and impact of jewelry, have led her quickly to the forefront of the designer jewelry market.

Michelle's one-of-a-kind pieces are individually assembled in the USA and hand sewn from a selection of the finest metal, leather and other natural material buttons. The care that goes into pleating each piece of grosgrain by hand, as well as the unique planning that is involved in the design process, ensures that no two necklaces are alike. Intricate and modern, they are as comfortable and wearable with jeans and a tee shirt as well as with elegant cocktail attire. And, most importantly, pull them out often and use them with love!
